Exit Thailand and growth in Zimbabwe
- With changes in customer demand, the Group exited the Thai market and focused resources on other core tobacco producing origins.
- Premium Leaf (Zimbabwe) Limited (PLZ) was established in Zimbabwe with a business model focusing on contracting with local tobacco growers in Zimbabwe and providing substantive agronomic assistance to them. PLZ purchases, processes and exports the contracted tobacco.
- In aiding the Group’s expansion into the Zimbabwe tobacco market, a strategic investment was made in a well-established and respected tobacco processing company.
